Our specialist infant feeding team, health visiting teams, infant feeding practitioners, family help colleagues, communications team, admin teams, Single Point of Access team, and volunteers from the Breastfeeding Network have worked together to be re-accredited as a UNICEF Baby Friendly service.
This is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the dedication and expertise of the Derbyshire Community Health Services teams. The re-accreditation reflects a shared commitment to giving babies and families the best possible start.
The UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative aims to make sure that the care provided for all babies is high quality, by ensuring that staff can provide families with evidence-based support and information that will enable families to make informed choices about feeding and caring for their baby.
Claire Scothern, General Manager of DCHS Children’s Services said “we’re incredibly proud of our staff and volunteers for achieving this respected accreditation. We want all our families in Derbyshire to thrive, and being a UNICEF Baby Friendly service shows we are working hard to achieve this”.
Our staff are here to support the feeding journey of all families. For more information, visit our baby feeding page.
