The school age immunisation service will monitor your child's immunisation status throughout their school life and will be able to give advice and support on immunisations.
School nurse teams work closely with the school age immunisation service. This is a separately commissioned service and is commissioned through UK Health Security (previously Public Health England).
About the school age immunisation service
The school age immunisation team provide vaccinations for children of school age (Reception - Year 11) across Derbyshire and Derby City. The team go into school to immunise the children against different illnesses, including flu, meningitis , menACWY, diphtheria, tetanus, polio and HPV.
From September 2019, consent forms for vaccinations will be filled in via our new E-Consent system. All the information will be given out through your child's school and consent forms are completed online. If your child does not attend school, is home educated or you have any problems with accessing the E-Consent system, please contact the team on the numbers below. For children that don't attend school or wish to have their vaccinations in a private setting, we run catch-up clinics across the county in school holidays. Please contact us to arrange this.
The team is split into two groups who cover the north and south of Derbyshire (and Derby City), based in Clay Cross (Chesterfield) and Repton. The team consists of twelve immunisation nurses, six immunisation assistants and three immunisation administrators.
