How do I claim free childcare in my local area?
As your child approaches the age of two, they may be eligible to receive free hours in education and childcare. Please look on the government website to view the eligibility criteria and to search for a nursery or registered childminder.
It's recommended that you visit the nursery, registered childminder, early education or childcare with your child so that you can make an informed choice about which childcare option to choose for your toddler.
It’s a good idea to go and have a look around and speak with the staff. This will give you a feel for where your child might be spending some of their time.
- Applying for the 2-year funding can allow you to get some independence or may support your working life.
- Whilst the thought of taking your child to nursery may make you feel scared and anxious, please feel reassured that your child attending a setting from their early years allows them to develop their social skills, support their emotional resilience and provides an enabling environment.
- The providers are Ofsted registered and are regulated to provide an early year’s setting that focuses on providing safe environments to allow your children to grow and develop to the best of their full potential.
